Jeez, is it August already? My, how the time flies! Today marks my first day working graveyard shift back in good ol' San Francisco. I got lured back for the month by an offer I couldn't refuse, so here I am. Mailorder might be a tad slower than usual as I'm having my wife mail stuff out for me from back home in Washington, but don't you worry - she's more than capable of handling the task. So yeah, it's August now so that means a new album of the month. My pick: Alarma Man's very excellent self-titled debut on Carcrash Records. Frenzied instrumental rock at its finest. Very, very recommended.

On a side-note: I've updated the "you might also like" feature in the store so that it returns better results. Go ahead, start browsing.

New song today from frenzied instrumental act Alarma Man. I got a bunch of their CDs from the good folks at Carcrash Records earlier in the week and must've listened to it a good three times in a row while packing my house. Soon I'll even have 'em for sale in the mailorder, but I'm way too crazy busy to even think about doing that right now. It doesn't help that my home Internet got cut off either. Anyhow, back to the music: the songs are quite mathy, but never so much that it gets in the way of the dynamic flow and melody. A perfect soundtrack for when you have too much to do and not nearly enough time, kinda like me. Highly recommended of course.

Speaking of things DoLL-related, Håkan's label Carcrash Records just released a new album from Alarma Man. Head to the label's website for a free soundclip: http://www.carcrashrecords.com/

Carcrash Records, home of excellent art-damaged acts like Dialog Cet and Svenson, now has a new website online: http://www.carcrashrecords.com/
Coming up next for the label will be Alarma Man's debut full-length in February and Log Cabin's next album sometime later on.

Alarma Man finally has their own domain name (and a new website design): http://www.alarmaman.com/
Unfortunately, the mp3 downloads don't appear to be working yet, but hopefully they'll have em up soon.

Alarma Man has cancelled all of their shows scheduled for November due to illness.

In somewhat related news, it's finally been confirmed that Carcrash will release the debut album from Alarma Man in February 2005.
