Swedish synthpoppers Alice in Videoland have signed a deal with Canadian label/mailorder Storming the Base who will be promoting the band in North America.

Swedish new-wavers Alice in Videoland have officially confirmed October 5 as the release date for their new album "Outrageous" via National Records. The band will have a special release show at Debaser in Stockholm the same night.

I hear that the new Alice in Videoland album will be out on October 5.

The video for the new Alice in Videoland single "BadBoy" has been posted online: http://www.aliceinvideoland.net/video/aliceinvideoland_-_badboy.wmv

Keyboardist Calle has left synthpop group Alice in Videoland citing the always-classic "personal reasons" as his explanation. He may still collaborate with the band in the future, but his full-time position will be taken over by long time friend and supporter Dominique Kalamajski.

Alice in Videoland reports that they are currently at home in Malmö working on a new album. If synthpop takes off this time around, they better hurry up to have something out soon.

Tons of new bands confirmed for the Malmöfestivalen today including Sahara Hotnights, Teddybears Sthlm, Markoolio, Kaizers Orchestra, Sandy Mouche, PowerSolo, Tiger Tunes, The Tremolo Beer Gut, Learning From Vegas, Sterling, Epo-555, Niccokick, Latin Kings, Promoe, Chords, Pluxus, Universal Poplab, Conevant, Alice in Videoland and more.

Swedish record label National (Stefan Sundström, The Mo , Alice in Videoland, Cajsalisa Ejemyr and Kristian Anttila) has split from Bonnier Amigo and become wholly independent. I fully expect we'll see more of this trend as indie labels become more and more self-reliant so that they can retain more profits in the ever-increasingly troubled music world. Coming soon from the label is new stuff from Pugh and a new album from Stefan Sundström in fall.
