Norway's Datarock plans to cash in on the zeitgeist with a special 5-song EP entitled "See what I care" paying tribute to the renown Madchester rave scene. Think: Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Charlatans, etc. Four songs they say are in the style of the "classics" plus one so-called "New Rave anthem". It comes out April 23.

Norwegian "thrashpop"/new-wave revival act Surferosa has just recorded two songs with the oh-so-hip crew behind Bergen-based label YFM/Your Favorite Music (FYI: YFM is run by the folks in Datarock). Ivar "Blanco" Nicolaisen of Silver provides some backup vocals and the two pieces are entitled "Fashion facist" and "The last stand".

Better late than never, here's Nick Levine's review of the recent Datarock show in London: [click here]
I wasn't terribly impressed when I first heard their "Computer camp love" EP back in 2003, but it seems like their patience and persistence is starting to pay off.
