Download a brand-new remix of "Gordon koodaa flashia" (Gordon is encoding Flash) from Finland's Multimediakonsultit (Multimedia Consultants) as remixed by Desert Planet: http://multimediakonsultit.net/musiikki_remiksaukset.html
As mentioned numerous times, Desert Planet is one of the many fine acts on the upcoming "It's a trap! reader's companion" compilation. This particular remix, the "Infinite Loop, Execute, Execute, Execute! Mix", first appeared on a single earlier this year and will also be included on Multimediakonsultit's upcoming album.

Finnish 8-bit rockers Desert Planet have posted an mp3 from their upcoming album "Turbo Tellytunes" that's coming out on September 28: http://personal.inet.fi/taide/junttila/desert/ani/turbo_tellytunes.htm
And whaddya know? It also happens to be the same track that'll be appearing on the "It's a trap! reader's companion volume one" compilation that I'm putting out, so of course it's highly recommended.

Finnish 8-bit rockers Desert Planet have a new track called "Gangster Puzzle" up at Micromusic.net. The song comes from the new album "Turbo Tellytunes" that comes out in August. And is of course, totally amazing from what I've heard so far.

Desert Planet's 2001 album "Asteroid Hopper" is nearly sold-out in physical form, but it's now available for purchase as mp3s from Zonkmusic.com: http://www.zonkmusic.com/album.php?albumid=65
Zonk Music was founded by sci-fi/fantasy/progressive music composer and producer Bjorn Lynne.

New mp3 posted yesterday from Slagsmålsklubben. Along with Finland's Desert Planet, they're one of the many great synthpop groups out there revitalizing the sounds of old-school 8-bit electronica. Very recommended.Note: If you downloaded the track earlier, it might be an incomplete version. A full version (2:13) is now available.

Finnish retro synthpop group Desert Planet has a new track called "Fumbler" up at micromusic.org, along with other downloads from tons of other link-minded artists.

Finnish conceptual rock group The Multimedia Consultants (they apparently sing about "todays working life, meaningless meetings and alienation of the so-called normal life") recently held a remix contest for the track "Gordon is encoding Flash" which was won by retro synthpop act Desert Planet with their "Sigue Sigue Sputnik meets Prodigy on their way to arcade gaming room" take on the song and Aleksi Nuuja who contributed an "80s disco" version. The two winning tracks will be released on the upcoming "First of May" single from The Multimedia Consultants which will also include the new track "(Joku vitun) mainostoimisto" [(A One Fucking) Advertising Agency] from the group's forthcoming album due out later this year.

Finland's Desert Planet has a new mailing list with an exclusive mp3 for members and a new message board. More info: http://personal.inet.fi/taide/junttila/desert/engani/index.htm

The Screaming Timbermen have revealed their true identity as a side project of Finnish retro electronic act Desert Planet and posted two new mp3s from imaginary Soviet-style TV series: http://www.sunpoint.net/~zelda82/timbermen/

Here's some mp3 remixes of various Desert Planet tracks, as done by France's Puyo Puyo and Eight BT from Sweden. DP also returns the favor by doing a "Horror Disco remix" of Puyo's track "Play Skip Stop".

Finnish retro videogame pop group Desert Planet have a quirky interview up at French electro-based netzine Coolbpm. If listening to oldschool Nintendo music sounds appealing, be sure to check these guys out because they're great at what they do.

Desert Planet's new album of retro video game-obsessed electronica "Joystick Pop" has been delayed until October 20.
