New Regulations album by late summer

Umeå punkrockers Regulations report that their new album is done and ready for mixing. Expect a late summer release via Ny Vag in Europe and Deranged Records in North America.

New album from Regulations soon?

Regulations recorded 12 new tracks for their next LP this past week with Fredrik Lyxzén at home in Umeå. No release date yet or anything, but I'll keep you posted.

Ex-Refused/Final Exit members Dennis Lyxzén and David Sandström have started a brand new hardcore band together called AC4. The lineup features Dennis on vocals, David on bass, Kalle from The Vectors on guitar and Jens from Regulations on drums.

Danish punkrockers Cola Freaks have posted a track on myspace from their new split 7" with CA-based act Autistic Youth: http://www.myspace.com/colafreaks

MP3: Knugen Faller - Lungen favoriter

This is kind of a catch-up post since I've been meaning to post about Knugen Faller for awhile, yet somehow manage to postpone it over and over. No more! Anyhow, Nancy's review sums it up pretty well, though I actually like it a lot more than she does. Truth: yes, this is a retro genre piece and as such, it steals shamelessly from acts of yore. However, I'm okay with that 'cuz they do it well. It's all about good songs played with copious energy, not originality and hey, they even get acclaimed jazz musician Jonas Kullhammar to lay down some sax so that's gotta mean something. If you like Randy, Regulations, or even The Hives, there's a damn good chance you'll like this too. 'Nuff said!

Havoc is now offering up an mp3 from that new Regulations 7" for free download: http://www.havocrex.com/mp3/Regulations_New_ways.mp3
Great band, great record.

I picked up a few extra copies of the new Regulations 7" "Different needs" last night. Email me if you're interested in picking one up 'cuz I'm not sure they'll make it to the webstore. I also forgot to mention it, but I've restocked copies of both Björn Kleinhenz CDs. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the new album sounds fantastic from what I've heard so far. No idea when it will be done, but I'm sure I'll be the first to let you know.

The Regulations show originally scheduled for tonight in Tacoma is now happening at the Eagles Hall right here in Olympia, WA. Sounds good to me!
