Chips K (Sator) makes a guest appearance on the new album "Piangi Con Me" from old-school California punks White Flag, billed as El Swe. It comes out February 28.

Swedish rockers Captain Murphy are working on their second full-length album, once again joining up with acclaimed producer Chips K (Sator, etc.). Look for a new 7" on US label Fandango Records in the near future, too.

In case you didn't already find out, Sator was the secret band at Hultsfred Festival this year. Various guests joined the band on stage including Moneybrother, Joppe Pihlgren (Docenterna), Nix Wahlberg (Nomads), Nina Natri (Fidget), Kent Norberg (Sator), Maria Andersson (Sahara Hotnights), Robert "Strängen" Dahlqvist (Hellacopters), Patrik Arve (Teddybears Sthlm), Bo Sundström and José González.

The new Hellacopters album "Rock & rock is dead" has been confirmed for a June 8 release. The record was produced by Chips Kiesbye (Sator) at Atlantis studio in Stockholm and mixed by Michael Ilbert at Megaphon Studio. Tracklist:

01. Before the fall
02. Everything's on TV
03. Monkeyboy
04. No angel to lay me away
05. Bring it on home
06. Leave it alone
07. Murder on my mind
08. I'm in the band
09. Put out the fire
10. I might come see you tonight
11. Nothing terribly new

13. Time got on time to wait for me

The first single will reportedly be for the song "Everything's on TV".

Mando Diao, Sator and Silverbullit are the first bookings for this summer's Peace & Love Festival in Borlänge, Sweden on July 8 and 9.

Sator side-project The Wild Kings report that they have finished work on their "Down at Wild Kingdom" 7". The b-side will be a live cover of "Career of Evil" by Blue Oyster Cult, and if that's not 'wild' enough for you, it will be released by the label Wild Kingdom.

Millencolin report that they've written about 20 songs for their next album, 12-14 of which will make the final cut. Chips Kiesbye from Sator will produce and recording is scheduled to begin on August 7 at Kuling Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

Sator entered Music-a-Matic Studios on May 2 to begin work on the band's sixth album "Basement Noise". Look for more updates coming soon.

The latest on The Hellacopters:

Carl Von Schewen (Wild Kingdom Records, founder of White Jazz Records), Henrik Walse (Hellacopter minister of art) and Nick Royale are running a club night at Debaser in Stockholm together called Club Wild Kingdom. Not only are they claiming to spin the best hard-rock, power-pop and classic punk records around, but they also have a hot house band called The Wild Kings with features members of The Hellacopters, Sator, The Turpentines, The Republicans and Thåström. They'll be playing all sorts of classic cover tunes and also promise to host surprise guests. Check out a flyer here: http://www.hellacopters.com/news/bomp.jpg

Strings' new band Thunderexpress has a 2-track single coming out soon on Razzle and will follow up with a full-length later this year.

There's still no official release date, but "Cream of the Crap, Vol. 2" is coming very soon. Or so they say.

Frontman Nick Royale also has a new band with Scott Morgan (The Rationals, Sonic's Rendezvous Band, The Hydromatics, Powertrane) called Soulmover. They will be recording an album of old-school soul/r'n'b which should hopefully be out on Wild Kingdom before the summer.

And lastly, Nick reports that the new Kurt-Sunes Med Helvetes Hundarna 7" will be out soon on Birdnest Records. "What it is?" he says, "I'm part of it but I don't have a clue." Check out www.birdnest.se for more info.
