A group of Oslo-based artist expats (2 Australians, 1 Canadian) have put together something called the "Starving Artist Kokebok", or "cookbook" for the Norwegian-impaired, a book and CD package featuring artwork, stories and of course recipes from 37 fellow Oslo-based bands, artists and journalists. Silver - The white logic
Silver's new album "Wolf chasing wolf" sounds like they broke into Satyricon's studio, locked the doors behind them and got all doped up. It's so harsh and negative, violent and paranoid; yet the huge trashrock hooks remain fully intact. The vital punkrock urgency, too. I just never thought I'd be so into a rock'n'roll record that sounded so unnatural. "Drenched in comfort" isn't as much of a pop song as the rest of their material, but I love the ominous chanting and drumline beats. And those leads! It's so great to hear a band pull together all sorts of disparate influences together and forge their own path.

Norwegian rockers Silver have confirmed that their new album "Wolf chasing wolf" will be out in Europe on August 29 via German label Rodeostar Records and in Norway on September 8 via VME.
Silver's new single "Pick up your life" is confirmed for release in late June/early July via Fysisk Format. Said single (on 7" vinyl, naturally) will include the exclusive b-side "Et Norge i forfall" and will be accompanied by a video to be released very soon. The excellent Oslo-based record store Tiger, one of Norway's only mailorders that ships internationally, is starting up a record label called Fysisk Format.
