It's a Trap! Clubnights update

It's a Trap! Clubnight update! First, We are the Storm's gig on September 24 has been cancelled, but don't worry -- bigger, better things will be happening for the band to come. Details shortly! Secondly, Like Rats From A Sinking Ship have been forced to cancel our October show, but again, there's no need to worry! Excellent Swedish noiserockers Tennis Bafra will be taking their place! Third, we'll be hosting Deathcrush from Norway in November along with Danish duo Fossils as support! Awesome! Be there!

CD clearance

I've had it with this mailorder business and I want my office closet back so from now until they're gone, all CDs are free for the price of shipping plus $3 to cover the box and PayPal fees. Select the titles you want and email me your list along with an address. I'll throw 'em in a box, weigh 'em and will calculate the grand total. Help me get this stuff outta here!

On vacation

One week at home followed by one week far far away from any computer. I'll try to chip away at the review pile over the duration, but don't expect regular news updates to resume until Monday, July 18.

It's a Trap! Clubnights fall update

It's a Trap! Clubnights for the fall season are starting to be confirmed and we've already got We Are the Storm coming on September 24 and then Kriget + Like Rats from a Sinking Ship on October 1. November is almost confirmed as well with a killer Norwegian act and I'll be sure to fill you in as soon as it's ready for public dissemination. Also, more crucially imminent: Into the Woods, the new band of Sara Wilson (First Floor Power, Kitchen and the Plastic Spoons), has been added to the bill on July 16 with Kajsa Grytt! If you find yourself near Malmö on any of those dates, you know where to go!

It's a Trap! Clubnights come to Stockholm!

Katharina%20Nuttall%20-%20Turn%20me%20on

Now confirmed for Friday, June 10 at Debaser Slussen in Stockholm capital city: Katharina Nuttall! Even better: it's free! So come on out and see a great artist in a great club! Full details: http://www.debaser.se/kalender/6503/

Kajsa Grytt coming to IAT Clubnights in July

Now confirmed for It's a Trap! Clubnights in July: Kajsa Grytt! Hopefully you are already aware of her legacy, from her more recent solo career to her time with pioneering (post-)punk act Tant Strul and beyond, but if not, she's got a new album (produced by Jari Haapalainen) and autobiography (!) on the way -- learn more here/hear some sample tunes: http://www.kajsagrytt.com/

Screw it.

I quit.

Epidemics added to May Clubnight

Umeå pop-punks Epidemics have been added to our May 28 Clubnight! Be there!

Mattias Alkberg added to April Clubnight

Mattias Alkberg has been added to the April 9th edition of It's a Trap! Clubnight at Debaser Malmö! That makes the full evening's lineup Pascal + Sad Day For Puppets + Mattias Alkberg, which of course adds up to totally awesome.

It's a Trap! Clubnights spring update

Thanks to everyone who came out to this weekend's It's a Trap! Clubnight at Debaser Malmö for once again making it a success! The more people that come out, the more we're able to keep bringing you killer shows, like these ones we just confirmed:

03/30 - Syket + First Love, Last Rites
05/28 - Paper

And of course, the previously confirmed Pascal/Sad Day for Puppets show on April 9. See you there?

InSekt out, Spirits of the Dead in

Attention denizens of Malmö! InSekt has been forced to cancel this coming Friday's It's a Trap! Clubnight with Kvelertak due to medical reasons, but all is not lost: the excellent Norwegian rock act Spirits of the Dead will be stepping in to take their place. Be there!

Process/Recovery

Back home again after my whirlwind journey to Göteborg and back with lots to say and many interviews to transcribe, but first I must trudge through my dayjob's massive to-do list that built up in my absence. Expect regular updates to resume shortly/slowly, not immediately.

Heading home

Hard to form coherent thoughts on such little sleep, but I can say with full certainty that I had a blast at P3 Guld. Expect a thorough writeup in days to come; in the meantime, I am just about to start the long journey home. Thanks again to Sveriges Radio for bringing me over, thanks to all my friends both old and new, so glad I could be here. Until next time!

GBG day 2

Things I've learned today: Peter Dolving will talk politics for hours, Jonas Björler says The Haunted is gay, Those Dancing Days have earned your respect, Tove Styrke's signature dish is pannacotta. Also: Björn Kleinhenz is working on an acoustic album, young panda girls with Broder Daniel patches still exist and Swedish beer is getting much, much better.

Malmö! Tonight!

Last Days of April and Leaders Off at It's a Trap! Clubnight at Debaser! I'm almost tempted to hop on a train and come down, but I'm already scheduled tight as-is.
