International electronic artists Tim Exile (UK), Mental Overdrive (NOR) and Boska (SWE) are teaming up for a special Occupy Wall Street-themed performance at the Insomnia Festival in Tromsø, Norway on October 21 and are asking for protest participants to upload sound, pictures and video footage to be incorporated into the event. They say, "We will then use snippets of this media as the basis for a sonic and visual real-time event to show both our support of those who work for a more just global financial system, as well as to celebrate the immediacy of our wonderful world of present time communication technology." Submit sounds here via SoundCloud; post videos and other media via Facebook.
Little Gang, the new band of Jacob Snavely (Dag för Dag), Carl von Arbin (Shout Out Louds), Rebekka Karijord and Erik Nilsson, will release their debut album "Half of everything" on October 19 and have a new website where you can preview a few tunes: https://wearelittlegang.com/
New Finnish indie with somewhat of an 80s vibe, apparently making waves in Germany. The album "Imaginary future" comes out November 11; RIYL Figurines or maybe Jaill.
is giving away a new song from Black Twig, the first sample of the band's upcoming debut album "Paper trees" which will be out in January. There's some definitely Sonic Youth vibes going on here, so be sure to check it out if you're into that sort of noise.
"Kevätlaulu" ("Spring song") is the second single from Juho Salmi & Suuri Voima's sophomore album "Kesä tulee, tunnetko", out now via and available on Spotify here in the US. Maybe not seasonably appropriate, but maybe that's a good thing.
