The Movements to release anniversary LP

Swedish rock act The Movements will be celebrating their 10-year anniversary with a new LP on that will include four new tracks plus two previously unreleased ones with a repress of their OOP EP "Drag me up" on the flip. The official release date is set for March 1 and there will be a release party at Truckstop Alaska in Göteborg on the 12th.

Mew frontman goes solo

Mew frontman Jonas Bjerre will make his debut as a solo artist with the release of the soundtrack to his friend Rune Schjøtt's film "Skyskraber". Both the film and the music will be officially released in May with the first single "Kids don't fight" to be released for paid download on February 14.

New album confirmed for Jennie Abrahamson

Jennie Abrahamson's third album "The sound of your beating heart" has been confirmed for release on April 13.

Acid House Kings count votes, confirm single

Skrammel to release Missbrukarna LP

has announced that their next project will be a Missbrukarna LP consisting of the legendary Swedish punk band's sole full-length release, which I believe is the "Krigets gentlemen" cassette. More details are forthcoming... UPDATE: Skrammel has informed me that the LP will actually be a collection of various never-released material that they compiled together with the assistance of member Rolf Bäcklund. Expect it to be out sometime this spring.

Peter Dolving prepares autobiography

The Haunted frontman Peter Dolving will be releasing an autobiographical novel entitled "Sieg Heil Svensson" sometime later this year via publisher King Ink.

Warcollapse covers collection almost ready

The test pressings have been approved for Warcollapse's new all-covers collection "Crap, scrap and unforgivable slaughter vol. 2", a continuation of the 7" they released on back in 2003 -- however, this time 'round they're only covering fellow Scandinavians such as Missbrukarna, Bannlyst, War of Destruction, Rattus and Purrkur Pillnikk. Lilla Himmel announces the year of the 7"

Norwegian label has announced that they will be repressing Okkultokrati's "Knarkskog" EP with new cover art once the band returns from tour. I randomly downloaded the band's earlier cassette release (available here) after seeing them listed on some shows with Hebosagil and was likewise stoked on the band. Judging by that short sample, I'd wager the new 7" is a serious bruiser and would love to get my hands on a copy.

The group's new album "Monokrom", their first in almost four years, will follow on March 30.
