Swedish jazz/world music label is expanding their repertoire a bit by releasing the new Elias Krantz album "Night ice" on May 23. Says the label: "While listening to his new album you might be reminded of Krautrock legends such as NEU! and Can, as well as modern post-rock in the vein of Tortoise, Four Tet and Caribou, but obviously Elias has a very personal and unique musical language." Elias' previous record "Island rock" was released by postrock specialists back in 2007.
Danish rockers On Trial will be calling it quits after 25+ years with a final show at Loppen in CPH on June 3. They'll also be doing one final release, a 2x7" on featuring four tunes, two from an aborted album session and two that will end up being the band's final statement. Said release will be packaged in a gatefold hand-screened sleeve and will be limited to a one-time-only pressing of 500 copies.

I had serious doubts that Torpedo could pull off such a grandiose concept piece, but my first few listens has me convinced that they mostly succeeded.
