Sci-Fi Skane, the sideproject of Jonas Jonasson and Thomas Öberg of Bob Hund/Bergman Rock, are releasing an mp3 single called "Jag har aldrig bott vid en landsväg" today, exclusively via CDON downloads: [click here]

The actual album will be released on August 31 via Silence.

It only took them five years or so to finish the first one, but it appears that Bergman Rock is undaunted and will be making a go at album #2. The English language alterego of Bob Hund is currently in studio and hopes to have it ready for release sometime next year. In other news, the new single "I'm A Crab" comes out October 27 and will include the unreleased b-side "Sea Of Hands".

Danish label Crunchy Frog, home of bands like Junior Senior and Powersolo, has signed indie-rock act epo-555 who they describe as "drawing on the same musical qualities as Bob Hund, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, The Flaming Lips, The Velvet Underground, Calexico and other cool cats." Freddie Wadling is enlisting Mauro Scocco and Thomas Öberg from Bob Hund/Bergman Rock to help with his new record. His collaboration "Fade Away" with Håkan Hellström is also supposed to be on the album.

US fans of Scandi music can now order the José González CD from Parasol for a reasonable domestic price. Later this week they'll have a shipment from Silence coming in with the new Mattias Hellberg CD as well as Bergman Rock and the Bob Hund catalog as well as the self-titled Hederos & Hellberg reissue.

The long awaited debut album from Bob Hund's English-language alter ego Bergman Rock is officially set for a December 23 release.

There's a new Swedish supergroup in the works with Conny Nimmersjö from Bob Hund playing guitar, Jejo Perkovic from Bear Quartet on drums, Weeping Willows bassist Stefan Axelsen, Irya Gmeyner from Urga and Mats Levén (ex-Yngwie!) on vocals. They don't have a name yet, but recording of their debut album is set to begin in February with Soundtrack of Our Lives' keyboardist Martin Hederos making a guest appearance. Read more.
