D-takt & Råpunk to release new 7"s from SIsta Kriget, Kvoteringen

reports that they'll be doing new 7"s for both Sista Kriget and Kvoteringen, the former coming out in a month or two and the latter following a bit further down the road. They also say that the upcoming Disarm 2xLP/CD comp is finally coming togther and should be ready in 2-3 weeks.

Virus album progress

Norwegian avant-metal act Virus reports that vocals have now been recorded for their new album, leaving only bass, overdubs and mixing to go. The title: "The agent that shapes the desert". No idea when it'll be out, but I'll keep you posted.

Encyclopedia of Svensk Dödsmetall: the Return

Italian death metal fiend Nicola Costantini is working on a revised 2nd edition of his "Encyclopedia of Svensk Dödsmetall" which looks to be absolute massive, clocking it somewhere near 400 A4-sized pages. Expect a 50/50 split of recycled/rearranged content from the first book and fresh new material, much of which is outlined in this blog post. It'll only be printing in a small limited edition, so you may want to reserve a copy early.

Svarte Greiner to release tour CDR

Svarte Greiner won't be able to get copies of his new album "Penpals forever" in time for his upcoming US tour, so he's handmade 100 limited CDRs of various unreleased and live material to be sold instead. Kvelertak gets release date, preview posted

Norwegian hardcore act Kvelertak will officially release their self-titled debut on June 21. Said record was recorded with Kurt Ballou (Converge) at Godcity Studios in Salem, MA and features guest appearances by Hoest(Taake), Andreas Tylden (JR Ewing, Altaar), Ivar Nikolaisen (Silver) and Ryan McKenney (Trap Them). New Wildbirds & Peacedrums EPs get exact release dates

The new Wildbirds & Peacedrums 12" EP "Retina", the first of two they plan to release, will finally be out on May 24 after a short delay. "Iris", the second part, follows on June 21.

New Bob Hund EP next week

Bob Hund will be releasing a new 4-song EP on May 19 called "Stumfilm".

Drivan debut coming in August

has confirmed that Driven, the "girl group" led by Kim Hiorthøy (remember?) will be releasing their debut album "Disko" in August.

Regina to get American release

will be releasing Regina's latest album "Puutarhatrilogia" here in the US on June 22. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure it will be digital-only, at least for now.

Rising gets a new drummer, more

Drummer Martin Niemann (ex-Marvins Revolt) has decided to take a break from music and has resigned from his place on the throne for Danish heavy rockers Rising. Jacob Johansen (Anchorless, The Fashion, ex-Lack), who has already previously sat in with the band back in late 2009, will be taking his place. As for the future, the band has cancelled their show with Moloken on May 21 and will instead debut the new lineup on May 28-29, in Göteborg and Malmö respectively, their very first Swedish dates. Otherwise, the band plans to work on their debut full-length for next six months or so and will be touring Europe in September.
