Swedish classic rockers Mainliners have been picked up by upstart label (yes, related to the boardgame) and will be releasing their new album "Our sacred syndicate" later this month. Check the video for the tune "Greetings to whatever" at YouTube: https://youtu.be/QVBlVwS5nFM
Copenhagen-based Industrial/postpunk label has announced two new releases, a 12" from Swedish act Street Drinkers and a 2x C-40 comp entitled "Port out, starboard home" which is devoted to "the struggles of human trafficking to Scandinavia." More info here and also via Discogs.
I don't get tipped off on new Finnish music nearly as often as I'd like, most likely due to the impenetrability of the language, but every so often there's something that slips through the cracks and this lil' skateboarding Justin Beiber clone is definitely worth noting.
Alog picked up a small stack of board%29" target="_blank">cardboard sleeves on their way through Portland, OR and, after pondering awhile what to do with them, finally settled on making them into covers for a new live album. However, they did not settle for a standard cover design -- instead they enlisted Japanese Manga artist Junko Harada to do a 50-panel strip, one for each edition of the record. See the result here, entitled "Tokio Heaven": https://alog.net/tc/index.html
Rock'n'roll, dogs, boardgames... the only thing missing from this video clip is beer. Once again, use promo code ITSATRAP when purchasing what looks to be the season's best new boardgame.
I don't normally do any crass ad/promo stuff aside from the ever-present/near-ubiquitous Google ad box below the fold, but I'm happy to make exceptions should the right opportunity present itself, so when Rock Science beckoned, I heeded the call. It wasn't a terribly hard decision: a Swedish-made rock'n'roll boardgame complete with a theme song by Imperial State Electric (included as a CDS in each copy) is totally right up my alley and is pretty much the perfect gift for your favorite rocker this holiday season (hint hint). So if you wanna hook it up, head on over to their webstore and use the promo code ITSATRAP when you check out. Do it!
