While not the only mp3 blog with a label, certainly one of the first.

It all began with an innocent interview request to the band KVLR which turned into a short US tour which turned into the 2004 release of the band's self-titled album. It was only natural to follow up with the release of the first "Reader's companion" compilation later that same year. January 2005 brought the start of my next project, the IAT.MP3 netlabel. Specializing in developing artists without the overhead of a full CD or vinyl production costs, the IAT.MP3 imprint consists of exclusive music, distributed online for free under a creative commons music license.

There's no limitation on genre, just geography.
