Female-fronted finnish goth-metal act Lullacry has announced they will release their new EP "Fire Within" on August 23 via Century Media. The disc will contain two new songs, the title track and "The #1 Rebel", as well as reworked semi-acoustic versions of older songs (incl. "Crucify My Heart") and a cover of "L.O.V.E. Machine" by WASP. A new full-length album is due out early next year.

finnish black/death metal act Shadow Cut has signed with Firebox Records. The band, which features drummer Repe F.W. Misanthrope of Impaled Nazarene and bassist Mitja Harvilahti from Moonsorrow will enter the studio later this year with producer Trollhorn (Finntroll) and the debut album should be out early next year. finnish prog group (or as they say, horny and punky secret agent brass music) Alamaailman Vasarat will be teaming up with Tuomari Nurmio and Tohtori Hillilä to work on a brand new album. The collaboration will feature the band and Hillilä playing all new songs written by Tuomari who will also lend his 'distinctive vocals and lyrics' to the proceedings. The instrumentation will include two drum sets along with bass saxophone and other new instruments, ensuring that it will be 'an interesting musical exploration for all three parties involved.' A few of the tracks will be debuted at various gigs this summer and the album itself is due out early next year.
