finnish label If Society has announced that they'll be releasing the new Hero Dishonest LP "Let Your Poison Scream" at the end of June. 20 minutes of no bullshit, no posing hardcore including a cover of "Pääni" by classic finnish punks KTMK. Also in the works from the label is the new album "Szklarska Poreba" from Fun. The sound is described as "classic 80's american indie á la Flipper, Big Black, Minutemen, Fugazi, Butthole Surfers, Saccharine Trust" and it should be ready by the end of July. finnish electronic music and video art label Abflug has announced the release of "Kids Used to Dream of Becoming Astronauts", the new EP from Karri O.. Here's the synopsis, straight from the label:
This five-track EP from Karri O. is a sincere attempt to render digital sounds as organic as possible. With echoes of influences ranging from minimal German techno to Rhythm & Sound to Warp, the end result is a danceable experiment that is nostalgic without being melancholy, innocent without being naïve. It is also Karri's first solo recording since he traded in his decks for a laptop after over a decade of deejaying. "Kids Used to Dream of Becoming Astronauts" comes with a deceivingly simple two-player computer game called Robotit for Windows machines. Use the money you earn to make your robot more and more powerful as the game progresses and then try to beat your friends. Original music for the game provided by Karri O.
Look for more releases from Karri on various labels to be announced soon.
